Dreams, crowns and community pride

A day of glitter and gowns, LaFayette Main Street hosted its Pageant on Saturday, June 6. 

"Our pageant was truly one of those days that reminds you why community events matter so much," said LaFayette Main Street Executive Director DeAnna Hand. "We watched young ladies of all ages walk across the stage with confidence and excitement, and every single one of them should be incredibly proud of themselves. It’s a true joy seeing new friendships formed, families cheering from the audience and young women growing in confidence. There were smiles, laughter, nervous excitement and yes, even a few heartfelt tears when the winners were announced. One of the most touching moments of the day was crowning our new Miss LaFayette Main Street, Chasidy Lewis. As a senior at LaFayette High School who was First Runner-Up last year, seeing her return, work hard and ultimately hear her name called as the winner was incredibly special. She is a remarkable young lady with a bright future ahead, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her represent our community. We are so proud of every contestant who stepped on that stage, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s queens accomplish.”
