VALLEY — The Valley Local is hosting the third annual Valley Fest from May 1-3 — creating a space for locals to grab their denim and daisies to enjoy the lineup of, Blane Rudd, KIT + CHAR, Kristopher Dewberry & The Lower Todd, Route 66, No Ego and Far Beyond Reason, with the headliner to be announced in the coming month.
“Valley Fest is a way for us to bring some fun entertainment for the community, along with vendors and food trucks, but [it is also] to raise money to give back throughout the year to different organizations, students and the school systems — to be a helping hand throughout the year for our community,” said Director of the Valley Local Sara Crutchfield.
With something for everyone, Crutchfield said Valley Fest will have a range of performances with different events each day of the weekend.
“There will be entertainment for the kids to enjoy in an enclosed field area, tons of vendors and food trucks — so come hungry,” she said. “One of the nights we will have adult beverages, so make sure to bring your ID. You will only be served with an approved ID that will be scanned. Valley Fest will be free on Sunday only, so you can get a weekend pass, and that will also include your Sunday admission. On Sunday, we will have Community Church there, and we will have three local preachers that will be preaching, along with a local choir, a praise and worship band and someone else who will be singing. Then the food trucks and vendors will be there as well.”
Crutchfield said she is looking forward to the community gathering together to enjoy Valley Fest for the third time.
“It’s exciting to see everyone come together and support the small businesses and all, so I’m hoping to see more people within our community show up,” she said. “A lot of people enjoy the different food trucks and having the opportunity to try different foods while listening to live music, as well as shopping and just having something close to home to enjoy. People tend to look forward to that.
“It takes a lot of planning and a lot of details to make it all come to life, and then seeing it all come to life the day of, while enjoying it with the community, is great. I enjoy looking around and seeing everyone smiling and knowing that every tiny detail and all the time put into the planning of it all comes to life — it’s just fun to see everybody together.”
