LAFAYETTE — Join together and be merry, the Small Town Jingle & Mingle is on Dec. 12 at 6 p.m., located at the Pearl Event Center.
“The Jingle and Mingle is just a fun time to celebrate — a lot of big companies have Christmas parties and holiday events, and some of our small businesses just don’t have the staff, people or resources [to do the same],” said the Executive Director of LaFayette Main Street, DeAnna Hand. “This was something that Krave Korner started last year, and we partnered together [this year] to bring this to our town and our community — for anybody that just wants to come together and have a holiday party. We will dance, play games and laugh — it was just a night full of fun last year. I’m really looking forward to what this year brings.”
The Booking and Marketing Coordinator at Krave Korner, Alesha Presley, said tickets are available in advance and day-of for $40 per person, and include everything for the night. To purchase a ticket, visit Krave Korner, call (334) 459-0192 or email kravekorner27@gmail.com.
“We’re going to be doing raffle tickets, door prizes, games and all of that will be taken care of with your $40 fee,” she said. “We had the idea [for local small businesses to] come together to celebrate, mingle and talk about how things have gone over the holidays and the year. [We want people to be able to] celebrate together, because we all get busy around the holidays and we don’t have time to plan anything for our minimum amount of employees. But we thought that if we come together and support each other by having [an event] at a venue and to come together for catering, everybody [can] participate in games, door prizes — it will be a festive event for all of the small businesses, not just in LaFayette, but [also the] Chambers County area.”
Last year was the inaugural Jingle and Mingle and Presley said the event was a blast and she is looking forward to a second year of celebration.
“We had a turnout of about 50 people, and it was great — we had an awesome time,” she said. “The food was catered by Krave Korner last year, and we plan to do the catering again this year. We are planning to have it hosted at the Pearl, the new event space in LaFayette — we are trying to support her with her [space] being new to the area. We want to bring light to that business and to their storefront to let people know what the details are with renting that space for events.”
Ultimately, Presley said the event is a fun holiday gathering for the community, and she is excited to enjoy the Christmas gathering this holiday season.
“I am, personally, a huge fan of just the holiday time — I absolutely love Christmas time, and Christmas time in our small town of LaFayette is absolutely amazing,” she said. “The way that [the businesses in LaFayette and Chambers County] love and support each other and come together to make things happen, not only throughout the year, but the love and the unity that comes together for Christmas time is just absolutely magic. I absolutely love it. We had the best time last year at the Jingle Mingle. We had so many people who wanted to come but weren’t able to come last year, and are looking forward to being a part of it this year.”
