LAFAYETTE — The LaFayette Bulldogs came up short Friday night, falling 26-13 to the Central Coosa Cougars in a hard-fought road matchup.

Central Coosa (4-5) capitalized on several big plays and a strong second half to secure its fourth straight win, while LaFayette (2-6) battled to stay in the game behind a determined defensive effort.

The Bulldogs moved the ball effectively at times, but turnovers and missed opportunities in scoring range proved costly. LaFayette managed a pair of touchdowns — one in each half — but the Cougars’ balanced offense ultimately proved too much to overcome.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs showed flashes of improvement and continued to compete with energy and heart as they look to close out the season on a high note.
