CHAMBERS COUNTY — Join together for a change. Council Member Charles Bagley and friends are hosting a Community Rally Against Gun Violence — Voices for Change: Healing Through Unity.

Community members can gather on Friday, June 26, at 6 p.m. ET at the L B Sykes Community Center, 1302 Cherry Drive in Lanett to honor lives, heal hearts and build a safer future.

"I organized this rally to bring meaningful attention to the impact gun violence has on families, neighborhoods, public safety and the future of our youth," said Bagley. "The event will provide a platform for families impacted by gun violence to speak, while also creating space for community dialogue, prevention-focused discussion and a law enforcement panel centered on public safety, trust and collaborative solutions.

"Gun violence is not just a law enforcement issue, a government issue or a family issue. It is a community issue. It affects cities and counties across our region, and it requires a united response, which is why I've invited the citizens, elected officials and law enforcement from Valley, LaFayette and Opelika in Alabama and the cities of West Point and LaGrange in Georgia. This event is intended to move the conversation beyond concern and toward collaboration, accountability, healing and action."

The program will include:

• Testimonies from families impacted by gun violence

• A law enforcement panel discussion

• Community safety and prevention dialogue

• A candlelight tribute honoring victims of gun violence

• A call to action for continued collaboration
