LANETT — Families, students and community members recently gathered in the Verdis F. Bible Fine Arts Center at Lanett High School for the 2025 Miss Lanala Pageant.

LHS algebra and ACT prep teacher, as well as Lanala yearbook adviser, Robb Nelson welcomed attendees to the annual event.

“Today we have one junior high student competing and 17 high school students competing,” Nelson said. “Four high school ladies will win the title of pageant favorite. One young lady from each grade will win the title of class beauty and compete for the title of Miss Lanala. We will also award one distinguished young man and one distinguished young lady with the titles of Mister and Miss LHS. Let’s start by taking a look at our pageant contestants. Ladies, come on out.”

After the contestants introduced themselves, Family and Consumer Science teacher Jasmine Holloway-Pate addressed the audience and introduced the judges.

This year’s judges included Carneshia Winston, a Valley High School and Tuskegee University graduate who teaches science at Troup County High School; Arshianna Reece, a Valley native and Alabama State University graduate who also teaches at Troup County High School; and Dana Stiggers-Ramsay, a longtime pageant mom and Valley resident.

Karsyn Bailey was crowned Junior Miss Lanala.

The Pageant Favorite winners were Mar’kala Bailey, Ny’Kayjah Davis, Nakeriona Heard and Carington King.

Each of the class beauties qualified to compete for the title of Miss Lanala and answered a series of questions to showcase their personalities. Kennedi Barker was crowned Miss Lanala 2025.

The pageant concluded with the Mister and Miss LHS competition.
