VALLEY — The NaphCare Charitable Foundation continued its long-standing commitment to the Valley community by awarding five $5,000 fully renewable scholarships to graduating seniors at Valley High School, culminating in a total investment of $50,000.

The 2026 recipients include Kimberly Llorens, Milagros Perez Agustin, Timothy McDonald, Gracie Peacock and Sam Gray.

The scholarships are designed to support students pursuing two-year associate degrees or approved trade and technical training programs at any accredited institution. The awards are renewable for a second year, covering costs for tuition, housing, books and fees.

“Our goal is to alleviate poverty by providing educational opportunities to hardworking students who show the potential to become future leaders,” said Deanna Newton, executive director of the NCF. “This initiative was originally inspired by the VHS Class of 1961, and we are proud to carry that torch forward.”

Since its inception in 2011, the NaphCare Charitable Foundation has awarded a total of 267 scholarships to Valley High School students, representing an investment of $1.1 million in the local youth. A majority of these recipients attend Southern Union State Community College, keeping the talent and economic growth within the local region.

Across all rural communities served, the Foundation has surpassed $3.5 million in total scholarship funding.
