BARBARA NELL CLARK
Barbara Nell Clark, 88, passed away peacefully on Aug. 8, 2026, at Bethany House in Auburn, surrounded by the love of her family.
Barbara was born on Nov. 17, 1937, in Chambers County, Alabama, to Maude Hurst Pender and Elrod Pender. She was a longtime employee of MNC Corporation, where she dedicated many years of service.
Barbara shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, Billy L. Clark. Together, they built a life centered around family and created a legacy that continues through their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those who knew Barbara knew she had a personality all her own. She was feisty, strong-willed and never afraid to speak her mind. Beneath that spirited nature was a woman who loved her family deeply. Her presence was unmistakable, and the stories, laughter and memories she leaves behind will be treasured by those who loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Hurst Pender and Elrod Pender; her beloved husband, Billy L. Clark; two sons, John Elrod Clark and Charles Richard Clark; and her grandson, Gregory Wesley Clark Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Gregory Wesley Clark, Sr. (Teresia), Kelly Shannon Conner (Robert) and Kimberly Shawn Montgomery (Richey); grandchildren, Brent Clark, Josh Conner (Heather), Jake Conner (Kayla), Nicole Clark Armstrong (Kyle), Brianne Brown (Hunter), Chase Montgomery and Hunter Montgomery; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Fredrick Dean Funeral Home in Opelika, Alabama, on Tuesday, Aug. 11 with interment following at LaFayette City Cemetery in LaFayette, with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating.
Her pallbearers were Kyle Armstrong, Hayes Armstrong, Hunter Montgomery, Jake Conner, Brayden Conner, Hunter Greenhaw and Christopher Goree.
Barbara leaves behind a family whose lives are forever marked by her love, strength and unmistakable spirit. While her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with those she loved who went before her. Her memory will live on through the generations she leaves behind and in the countless stories that will continue to be told about a woman who was truly one of a kind. She will be deeply loved, greatly missed and forever remembered.

JENNINGS
Joe Bobby Jennings, 88, of LaFayette, went to his Heavenly home on July 29, 2026. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Joe Bobby was born in Tallapoosa County on Dec. 3, 1937, to the late Elizabeth Cook and Guy Jennings. He graduated from Camp Hill High School in 1955 and went on to attend Auburn University, where he earned his degree at the College of Agriculture.He devoted his life to the forestry business. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for many years. He loved the outdoors, his community and especially his favorite parcel of land in Hackneyville. His passion for forestry and responsible land management was evident throughout his life and earned him numerous honors for his dedication and accomplishments.
In 2011, Joe Bobby received the following awards: Mosley Memorial Treasure Forest Award — Central Region; Statewide Outstanding Tree Farmer; Southern Regional Tree Farmer of the Year; Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Use Management of Forest Land and Treasure Forest Award — Central Region. He was extremely proud of being recognized by his peers for doing work he truly loved.
He met and fell in love with the beautiful Marilyn Langley. She was the absolute love of his life and he adored her. They built a life on love and raised two amazing children. He and Marilyn were married for 68 years at the time of her passing on July 18, 2021.
After his retirement, he started and operated Lake Martin Pecan in Dadeville. He was fortunate to find a second career that allowed him to still work with and talk to people. When he retired the second time, he turned the day-to-day operations of the business over to his son, Mike Jennings. He still went to the pecan shop every day, but now Mike did the work and Joe Bobby sat and chatted with the customers. He loved being able to visit with customers and friends that stopped by.
Joe Bobby was a genuine man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a true man of faith, a loving father, a devoted husband and a friend to all. Joe Bobby’s greatest legacy, however, was the love he shared with his family, his unwavering faith and the example he set for those around him. His love for his family, his land and his community will live on through the generations.
Joe Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Guy Jennings; his beloved wife and soulmate, Marilyn Langley Jennings; his brother, Elmer Guy Jennings; and his sister, Ann Jennings Langley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Joseph Michael (Bethany) Jennings; his daughter, Susan Camille Jennings Davis (the late Joseph Clinton Davis Jr.); his grandson, Taylor (Alison) Jennings; and his great-grandchildren, Hudson Jennings, Marley Jennings, Mason Jennings and Tyson Jennings.
A graveside service was held Monday, Aug. 3, at Tallapoosa County Memory Gardens with Elder Richard Pinnell officiating. In memory of Joe Bobby Jennings, the family welcomes flowers or donations made to the charity of your choice. Joe Bobby will be deeply missed, but his memory, his faith and the legacy he built will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Lake Martin Funeral Homes assisted the family of Mr. Joe Bobby Jennings.
