ALFORD RAY

Alford Ray, 85, of New York City (formerly of LaFayette) died Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York. 

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, July 21, at noon CT at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in LaFayette, with the Rev. Terrence Holloway officiating.

Ray is survived by his wife, Mildred Ray; two sons, Alford Ray Jr. and Gary Lamont Ray; three grandchildren, Na’gee Unique Ray, Gevelle Jordan Ray and Christopher Bryan Ray; one brother, Willie C. of LaFayette; two sisters, Susie Mae of LaFayette and Mary Alice (James) of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
