JOHN MCKENZIE AYRES

Mr. John McKenzie Ayres, 72, of Lanett, passed away at his residence on Sept. 30, following an extended illness.

John was loved and admired by his friends and family and he will be truly missed.

A graveside memorial was held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point.

The staff at Valley-Point Funeral Home & Cremation was honored to serve the family of Mr. John McKenzie Ayres.

JOHN MCKENZIE AYRES

James H. Taylor of Valley, passed away at his home on Sept. 24, 2025. He was born on Oct. 9, 1935, in Fairfax, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Barbara (Betty) Taylor; and his parents, Jimmy Frank and Doris Bryant Taylor.

Mr. Taylor attended Valley High School. During his career, he was a textile supervisor for West Point Pepperell Bleachery & Dye Works.

His hobbies included riding his Harley motorcycles, watching Alabama football and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Taylor was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include his cherished daughters, Denise Hill of Valley, Alabama and Suzanne Chavez of Spring Hill, Florida. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Amber Tharp, Aubryn Shivers (Patrick), Noe Chavez (Kelly) and Anthony Chavez; and his great grandchildren including John Patrick Shivers, Taylor Blade Shivers, Adrian Noah Chavez and Gabriella Taylor Chavez.

The family respectfully requests that there be no flowers or donations for Mr. Taylor.

A private family service will be held later for Mr. Taylor.

Valley-Point Funeral Home and Cremation in Lanett, Alabama, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
