JENNIE REA DAVIS WARNER

Jennie Rea Davis Warner, 96, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away on Sept. 12, 2025. She was born in Lanett, on Jan. 12, 1929, to the late Sadye Norman Davis and Ernest Eugene Davis. She was the second of four children.

Jennie attended Georgia State College for Women and LaGrange College. On Oct. 29, 1949, she married the love of her life and best friend, Robert “Bobby” Warner. They shared a beautiful life of 56 years together and had two children, Rob and Janey.

Jennie’s deep and abiding faith was a cornerstone of her life. Though raised as a Baptist, she spent most of her years as an active member of the Methodist Church. After moving to Florida, she found a new spiritual home in a non-denominational church, demonstrating a dedication to her faith that transcended specific denominations.

Jennie was an active participant in all her church communities. She consistently led or participated in Bible studies, sharing her knowledge and passion for scripture with others. For 14 years, she was a dedicated member of Bible Study Fellowship. In the women’s Bible study she attended before her death, Jennie was a revered resource; her fellow members often turned to her for help finding specific verses. Her remarkable ability to quote scripture, including the chapter and verse, was a testament to her deep study and devotion. Her favorite verse, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” perfectly encapsulated her reliance on her faith for strength.

Beyond her knowledge of scripture, Jennie will be remembered for her special graciousness and loving Christian spirit. Her gentle demeanor, beautiful smile and kindness to all served as a living example of her faith. She was a true role model for how a loving Christian should act, leaving behind a legacy of grace that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Jennie is survived by her son Robert Warner Jr. (Jean) and daughter Jane W. Allen (Bill). She was also cherished by her six grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at LaFayette Cemetery.

LARRY F. REEVES

Larry F. Reeves, 69, of LaFayette, passed away peacefully at his home on Sept. 14, 2025.

Born on Aug. 22, 1956, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Larry lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family and faith and a deep love for the outdoors.

Larry grew up in Alabama, went to Valley High School. He later earned his welding certification from Opelika Technical College, launching a career that would span more than four decades. A master of his craft, Larry began his professional journey at Sims Machinery in Lanett before continuing with Sims and later ISS, both in Valley. Eventually, he founded his own business — Triple Oak Welding in LaFayette — where he combined skill and creativity until his retirement.

Throughout his life, Larry was known not only for his technical expertise but also for the joy he found in building things for those he loved. Whether it was crafting a gym set for his grandchildren or designing a trailer with a custom kayak rack for family adventures, Larry’s handiwork reflected both talent and heart. His hobbies included pitching horseshoes, camping, four-wheeling, kayaking, Ruth’s Flea Market with friends and spending time with his family and grandchildren and Auburn Football. One of his favorite pastimes was simply relaxing on the front porch swing — a place where many conversations were shared and memories made.

Larry’s faith was important to him and grew stronger especially later in life. He loved his Lord and Savior, and he cherished fellowship with his church family and took great pride in working with the Chambers County Outdoor Expo for several years. His commitment to service and community left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years and devoted caregiver for the past five and a half years, Kathy Reeves; sons John Reeves of LaFayette and Chris Williams of Hampton, Tennessee; grandchildren Anisa Kistler, Kaitlyn Williams, Ethan Kistler and Corbin Williams; five great-grandchildren with another expected soon; his mother-in-law and caregiver Ruth Webb and special family friend and caregivers Katie Brooks and Wynell Talley; nephew Coleman (Tiffany) Reeves; nieces Alisha (Brian) Self, Robin (John) Cochran, Kathy (Jack) Gaches and Amy (Joe) Chichetti; as well as many great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Joe Reeves; sister Joanne Dobson; and brothers Ken Reeves and Morris Reeves.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LaFayette Heights Baptist Church at 1200 AL-77 LaFayette, AL 36862; Chattahoochee Hospice Inc., 6 Medical Park Valley, AL 36854; or to ones favorite charity.
