Summer camp fun in Lanett: sports, games, trips and more
BY LAFAYETTE SUN STAFF
LANETT — Lanett Recreation is hosting summer camps from June 16 to 25 and July 7 to 16 for children in the community to have fun this summer.
The camps are $65 and run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The days will include trips, swimming, sports, games, arts and more, offering a range of fun options for local children.
"This year we are doing summer camp,” said Lanett Recreation Director Trent McCants. “We have been doing it for, I believe, four years. This year we are doing camps for children ages 6 to 10. We are going to do three days a week. When they come in in the morning, we will feed them breakfast. They will do exercises, a little warm-up to get them ready. After that, for example, Wednesdays will be a karate session. We have got a guy coming every Wednesday to teach self-defense. We have also got a guy who will come in and teach them sports that they don't normally do, like wiffle ball. We will have video game days, and take them swimming. We will take them to get ice cream and give the kids a chance to go places that they have never been before. Hurry up and sign up, spots are going fast."
The camps will be located 1302 Cherry drive in Lanett, for more information, call (334) 844-4316.
