Talladega edges LaFayette Lady Bulldogs in close flag football battle

The LaFayette High School Lady Bulldogs flag football team hosted Talladega High School on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Bulldog Stadium in a closely contested matchup. The Lady Bulldogs (0-3) jumped out to a 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Tigers (1-4) answered just before halftime. A touchdown with 13 seconds remaining, followed by a successful extra point, gave Talladega a 13-12 advantage at the break. The Lady Bulldogs regained the lead in the third quarter, going ahead 20-13. Talladega responded again, tying the game at 20-20 with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The score remained tied until the final minute, when Talladega found the end zone with 49 seconds left to take a 27-20 lead. LaFayette had one final possession and pushed toward the end zone, but the Lady Bulldogs came up just short as Talladega held on for the 27-20 win.
