FOR THE LAFAYETTE SUN

LAFAYETTE — Chambers Academy saw success across multiple athletic programs during the 2025 season, with teams earning postseason berths, championship titles and national recognition. From football and softball to volleyball and cheer, Rebels athletes recorded notable achievements at the state and national levels. The following is a countdown of the top five Chambers Academy sports accomplishments from 2025.

Number 5: Chambers Competition Cheer Earns Bid to Nationals

In their first year, the Chambers Academy Competition Cheer Team earned a bid to compete at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships. The team will compete Jan. 29-Feb. 1, 2026 at the Walt Disney World ESPN Wide World of Sports.

Number 4: JV Football Goes Undefeated

The Chambers Academy JV Rebels posted a perfect 6-0 season. Chambers JV picked up wins over Macon-East Montgomery Academy, Fort Dale Academy, Lowndes Academy and Edgewood Academy.

Number 3: Varsity Volleyball Makes Elite 8

After a few years of growth, the CA Varsity Volleyball Team advanced to the AISA State Volleyball Tournament. Although they lost to the eventual State Champions, Southern Academy, the Lady Rebels proved to be one of the elite programs in AA once again.

Number 2: JV Softball Wins State Tournament

Finishing the regular season 11-1, the JV Lady Rebels entered the AISA JV State Invitational Tournament as the number one seed. After falling to Fort Dale in the second round of the tournament, the JV Lady Rebels had to battle back in the loser’s bracket. Eliminating Patrician, Clarke Prep and Morgan, the JV Lady Rebels found themselves facing Fort Dale once again in the championship. Chambers had to beat the Eagles twice to take the crown, and they found a way to battle and do just that, beating Fort Dale 16-8 to force an extra game. Down 7-8 in the final inning of the championship game, the pitching unit for Fort Dale started to struggle, walking in the tying run. Layken Taylor then knocked in Trenise Tigner to walk off with the championship.

Number 1: Rebels Threepeat

The Chambers Academy Rebels Varsity Football Team claimed the AISA State Championship for the third year in a row defeating Lowndes 32-14 at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. Ending the season 12-2, the Rebels cemented their way into the history books joining just 21 other schools to ever win three championships in a row in the history of high school football in Alabama.
