Rock Springs to serve as Official Operation Christmas Child Drop-off Location
CHAMBERS COUNTY — Rock Springs Baptist Church will once again serve as an official drop-off location for Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a volunteer organization that collects shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items and school supplies. The shoeboxes are then shipped all over the world to act as a tangible representation of God’s love. The children who receive the shoeboxes hear the Gospel story and are invited to attend a 12-week discipleship program.
Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected over 232 million shoeboxes and shipped them worldwide. Local churches, businesses and individuals are encouraged to pack shoeboxes and drop them off during National Collection Week, which spans Nov. 17 thorugh 24. Shoeboxes can be delivered to any official collection location, and Rock Springs Baptist Church will serve in this capacity for the seventh year in a row.
Rock Springs is located on County Road 62 outside of LaFayette in the Marcoot Community.
