LAFAYETTE — The National Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association recently honored Eddie Adams with the Patricia Mulkey Legacy Award, an honor named for a woman remembered for her unwavering spirit, generosity and dedication to the sport of rodeo.
The Patricia Mulkey Legacy Award is presented to an individ- ual who exemplifies the values Mulkey embodied throughout her life — helpfulness, kindness and a deep commitment to others. Recipients are those who con- sistently give their time, talents and compassion while working to strengthen both the association and the sport itself.
According to the association, the award recognizes someone who serves as a steady presence within rodeo, offering support to competitors, stock contractors and personnel while also welcoming and encouraging fans who fill the stands at each performance. The recipient is known for showing up when needed, lifting others up and contributing to the success of rodeo at every level.
The award honors not only what a person does, but who they are. It reflects a servant-hearted leader, a trusted friend and an example of the National Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association family at its best.
This year’s recipient, Eddie Adams, was recognized for his dedication to stock contractors, contestants, rodeo personnel and spectators, as well as his overall commitment to the sport of rodeo.
Representatives of the National Cowboy Pro Rodeo Association expressed their appreciation for Adams’ continued service and leadership, noting that his impact reaches far beyond the arena.
Additional remarks and reflec- tions from Adams will be in- cluded as part of the presentation coverage.
