LAFAYETTE — The Chambers Academy JV Rebels posted a perfect 6-0 season getting their final win of the year last Tuesday. Chambers JV picked up wins over Macon-East Montgomery Academy, Fort Dale Academy, Lowndes Academy and Edgewood Academy.

With a squad that was small in number, it would have been easy to count this team out; however, they proved all naysayers wrong posting just the second undefeated season in the last ten years for the Rebels.

“We had several injuries that our kids could have used as an excuse to not compete at a high level, but that never happened. We were able to pull out some close wins early in the season that gave us confidence and made us stronger as a unit,” said head coach Jason Allen.

Cohen Hand and Jamario “Toonchie” Taylor led the team in rushing with an explosive offense.

Cooper Earl stepped up in big games as both a receiver and on the defense side of the ball. Defensively, Asher Lovelace, Benton Earl, Cameron Feyen and Cooper Pike were all contributing factors to the Rebels’ success.

“This group will be a fun one to watch as they grow older and mature together,” Allen said. “The weight room will be crucial for their development over the years. It was a joy to be their coach.”
