VALLEY — The Valley Planning and Development Director, Reid Riley, updated the council on the outcomes from the public meeting on the cemetery cleaning.

“[We] had about 15 people show up — had some lengthy conversations,” he said. “This week was supposed to be the week that we started that clean up, which obviously, with the weather and the rain — we will not be able to do, so that will be postponed for at least another week. I did give everybody my email to email me any changes that they would like to see in our ordinances, and that I can pass them along through our council and mayor.”

Valley Parks and Recreation Director Jon Neal said he wanted to remind the community about the Fall Festival and Haunted Hayride this coming Friday, Oct. 31.

“We’re gonna be passing out candy — got several vendors out there, church organizations, bounce houses and the DJ — then that ends at 7:30 p.m., then we will start the hayride back in the Lakeview — and that will go until 10 p.m.,” he said.

Valley Police Chief Mike Reynolds said he wants to remind the community to remain safe and aware while driving on Halloween night.

“With Friday being Halloween, we're asking the public to be especially aware when they're driving through the neighborhoods, to be watching out for kids and trick or treaters,” he said. “While we don't set an official Trick or Treat time — we ask the parents to limit it between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. and to stay with their kids.”

The council had no items on its consent or regular agendas.
