LAFAYETTE — Costume up to consume candy, LaFayette Main Street is hosting its fourth annual Trunk or Treat event this Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“We are inviting all to join us for our fourth annual Trunk or Treat,” said LaFayette Main Street Executive Director DeAnna Hand. “This is going to be held downtown, and it is a safe, fun environment for the kids to enjoy dressing up in their cutest costumes and getting lots of candy from participating churches, individuals, different organizations and our small businesses that might have a trunk. We really encourage people to come out and enjoy.”

Hand said hosting the Trunk or Treat in downtown LaFayette allows kids and families to trick or treat without having to drive all around town.

“It has been just very much appreciated by a lot of the different residents and community members here because it's one location where they can come and get lots of candy and walk downtown without having to drive around to different homes and houses,” she said. “I really think it just allows people to come together and enjoy one another, and have a little bit more lighter fun. The world is so heavy, and there are so many things that we're seeing right now in our world. I think that just getting people out and bringing them together to visit and love on one another and laugh together is so important, because it is. And this allows the kids to interact with one another, maybe meet people that they possibly didn't know before and just get our community together.”
