Shirley Ann Chambers

SHIRLEY ANN CHAMBERS

Shirley Ann Chambers, age 90, from Atlanta, Georgia, passed away July 25, 2026. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Ralph Wolf; her sisters Charlotte Kyle and Donna Hushaw; and her daughter, Debbie Chambers.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Chambers; her sister, Barbara DeLange; her brother, Ralph Wolf; four children Cliff (Joan) Chambers, Cheryl (Joe) Poole, Ruth (Wendell) Dallas and Rachel (Shelton) Whittington; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Shirley was a beloved longtime Auburn resident and dedicated nurse for the Lee County Health Department. A woman of deep faith, she was an active member of Auburn United Methodist Church, where she took great pride in establishing the church’s acolyte program. Above all, Shirley was a loving wife and devoted mother. She had a beautiful spirit and was a caring presence in the lives of all who knew her. She extended her love to those around her and inspired many with her strength. Her legacy of kindness, faith and generosity will be cherished by her family forever. She was our angel on earth, and now she walks with the angels in heaven. A memorial service will be held at the Auburn United Methodist Church Chapel on Aug. 16, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Storybook Farm in Opelika, 300 Cusseta Road, Opelika, AL 36801 or Alabama Rural Ministries, P. O. Box 2890 Auburn, AL. 36831, in memory of Shirley Ann Chambers.
