LINDA DIANNE MYERS
Linda Dianne Myers, 80, of LaFayette, passed away on Sept. 25, 2025, at Bethany House in Auburn. She was born in Langdale, Alabama, on Nov. 6, 1944, to the late Stanley and Mabel Gaches Yarbrough.
Dianne was retired from Myers 1 Stop and worked as a poll worker for many years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church Lanett.
Dianne is survived by her husband Al Myers of LaFayette; son, Buddy (Fran) Groover; two sisters, Wendy (Jeff) Williams of LaFayette, and Ginnie Lunsford of Auburn; four grandchildren, Chelsea Groover, Colby Groover, Logan (Hannah) Groover and Ryan Groover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Cherie Groover and Michael Groover.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, in Lanett, with the Rev. Mitch Hamilton officiating.
Family received friends at the cemetery prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Providence Baptist Church, Bethany House or Girls’ Ranch.

JERRY DALE ABERNATHY
Jerry Dale Abernathy, 87, of LaFayette, passed away on Sept. 25, 2025, at Canterbury Health and Rehab in Phenix City, Alabama. He was born in Chambers County, on Sept. 9, 1938, to the late Hassell and Minnie Kate Ford Abernathy.
Jerry was retired from TREC after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army in the 529th Military Police Company.
Jerry was a member of the Church of Christ of LaFayette,.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Drusilla Lamb Abernathy of LaFayette; daughter, Robin (Phillip) Cottle of Roanoke, Alabama; three grandchildren, Matthew Cottle of Roanoke, Laura (Alex) Rodriguez of Birmingham and Jacob Cottle of Jefferson City, Tennesseee; and brother-in-law, Curtis Lamb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mimsye Owen.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at First Baptist Church of LaFayette with the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial followed at Harmony Memorial Gardens mausoleum in Lanett. Family received friends at the church prior to the service.
