P.H.Y.R.E.’s annual Back-to-School Bash empowers families across the county
The spirit of community and giving was alive and well at P.H.Y.R.E.’s annual county-wide Back-to-School Bash, an event dedicated to preparing local students and families for a successful academic year. Held last weekend, the event served as a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared mission: helping youth reach excellence. This year’s Bash was a tremendous success, drawing families from across Chambers County and surrounding areas. Over 300 free backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to students of all ages — a significant help to families during the busy and often financially demanding back-to-school season. But the event offered far more than school supplies. Attendees enjoyed free food, beverages, games and prizes, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere that brought smiles to children and parents alike. The celebration was not just about fun — it was about connection and support. Approximately 20 resource vendors were present offering families access to vital services ranging from health and wellness to youth programs, financial literacy and more. These organizations helped bridge gaps by connecting attendees to resources that many might not otherwise know are available to them. “We are beyond grateful to our sponsors and supporters who continue to stand with us year after year,” said Adrian Holloway, P.H.Y.R.E’s founder and director. “Their generosity is what makes events like this possible, and their belief in our mission allows us to continue pouring into our youth and community.” The Back-to-School Bash stands as one of P.H.Y.R.E’s cornerstone events, rooted in the organization’s mission to empower, uplift and equip young people for excellence — both in and out of the classroom. As the school year begins, P.H.Y.R.E’s commitment to youth development remains stronger than ever.
