The Valley Local names inaugural 2026 ‘20 Under 40’ class

CHAMBERS COUNTY — The Valley Local is proud to recognize 20 individuals under the age of 40 who are making a meaningful difference throughout Chambers County. 

The 2026 20 Under 40 recognition was created to shine a light on individuals who are going above and beyond, not simply through their careers, but through the time, leadership, service and heart they pour into the communities they call home.

This year, The Valley Local received numerous nominations from community members who wanted to recognize individuals making an impact throughout the Valley. The nominations represented people from a variety of backgrounds and professions, including education, healthcare, business, community service and other areas of local leadership.

After nominations were received, additional community boards were asked to review the nominations and select the honorees. This process allowed the selections to be based on the individuals’ contributions, leadership and service to the community.

Each honoree represents the type of community-minded leadership The Valley Local hopes to celebrate: individuals who contribute far beyond the expectations of their careers and who use their time, talents and resources to make a difference.

The honorees were recently surprised with their awards, giving The Valley Local an opportunity to personally visit with each recipient and witness their reactions to being recognized by their community.

From teachers making a difference in the lives of students, medical students investing in local healthcare, to community members and business owners going above and beyond to serve others, this year’s honorees demonstrate that leadership is not simply about holding a title. It is about showing up, serving others and investing in the place you call home.

“We are so thankful for everyone who took the time to nominate someone,” said Sara Crutchfield, director of The Valley Local. 

“There are so many people in our community doing incredible things that often go unnoticed. We wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some of those individuals and let them know that their hard work, leadership and commitment are seen and appreciated.”

The Valley Local hopes the 20 Under 40 recognition will continue to grow in the years ahead, creating an annual opportunity to celebrate the young leaders, professionals, volunteers, business owners, educators and community members who are helping shape the future of the Valley.
