Fall festivals, markets fill seasonal calendar across Chambers County

CHAMBERS COUNTY — Autumn festivities are rolling into Chambers County as area schools, community organizations and city departments gear up for a full calendar of seasonal markets, movie screenings and fall festivals throughout October and November.

From school carnival grounds to outdoor movie screens and fresh harvest stands, here is a roundup of fall celebrations scheduled across the local area.

LANETT — Springwood School will host its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. ET at 1814 Cherry Drive in Lanett. The family-friendly event features a bouncy house, dunking booth, hayrides, a petting zoo, costume contest, silent auction, bingo, games, music and food. Tickets are available for preorder on the school’s Facebook page or at the door. 

VALLEY — The City of Valley Parks and Recreation Department brings its free indoor community movie night to the Valley Community Center gym (130 Sportsplex Drive) on Saturday, Oct. 10, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Moviegoers are encouraged to dress in costume and bring blankets or lawn chairs to view the screening of “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.” Concessions will be available for purchase, and outside food and drinks are welcome.

VALLEY — Fairview Baptist Church hosts its annual Fall in Love with Jesus fall festival on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. ET at 600 River Road in Valley. The gathering will offer hayrides, carnival games, a cakewalk and food.

VALLEY — Children ages 5 to 12 can dive into the autumn season at the Valley Community Center pool deck on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ET. Attendees can dive for mini pumpkins, participate in pumpkin carving, win prizes and enjoy open swimming. Admission is free for community center members and $4 for guests.

LANETT — The Lanett High School Beta Club and Honor Society will host an all-community fall festival on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. ET at Lanett High School, located at 1301 S. 8th Ave. in Lanett. Open to students across all three Lanett city schools and the general public, the festival includes inflatables, horse rides, face painting, a haunted hall, hayrides, bingo, dancing and door prizes. VALLEY — Emmanuel Baptist Church will celebrate the season with a community fall festival on Friday, Oct. 23, starting at 6 p.m. ET at 2615 U.S. Highway 29 in Valley. The evening will feature games, food, hayrides, candy and fellowship.

LANETT — Victory Baptist Church welcomes families to its fall festival on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. ET at 3945 54th Ave. SW in Lanett. Free festivities include hayrides, bingo, pony rides, face painting, food and games, with a trunk or treat beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET. For more details, visit vbclanett.com.

VALLEY — The City of Valley Parks and Recreation Department will hold its signature Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. ET at the Valley Sportsplex (130 Sportsplex Drive). Admission is free and includes carnival games, inflatables, food trucks and a community trick-or-treat trail. Immediately following the festival, the department’s haunted hayride runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. ET for $2 per rider. 

VALLEY — Looking ahead into late autumn, the Valley Parks and Recreation Department will host a special Fall Farmers Market on Friday, Nov. 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. ET at the Historic Langdale Mill Farmers Market Pavilion. The market provides area growers, farmers and bakers an opportunity to sell late-season harvest produce and homemade goods ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
