CHARLIE LEWIS HILL

Charlie Lewis Hill, 54, of LaFayette died Monday, March 9, 2026, at Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness Facility, Birmingham. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 11322 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, LaFayette at 1 p.m. CST with Rev. Loren Manley officiating. The remains laid in state at the church from noon until the funeral hour. The interment was in Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetery, LaFayette. Public viewing was on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m. CST at Vines Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughter: Ma’Kenzie Sha’kayla Hill; four sisters: Minnie Lockhart-Bulger, Margaret (Willie) Bulger both of Opelika, Evelyn (Ronnie) Huguley and Virginia Jackson both of LaFayette; two brothers: Eddie Hill and John W. Hill both of LaFayette; seven nieces, three nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, 11 great-great nieces and nephews; a beloved friend as a sister, Tracy Jennings; a dear friend, Cassandra and the Highlands Rehabilitation and Wellness family and a host of relatives and friends.

Vines Funeral Home of LaFayette handled the arrangements.

FRANCES BONNER BROWN

Frances Bonner Brown, 94, of Five Points, Alabama, passed away on March 12, 2026, at EAMC in Opelika. She was born in Carrollton, Georgia on April 27, 1931, to the late Chappell Ward Bonner and Jodie DeLoach Bonner.

Frances was then oldest member of Five Points Baptist Church.

She was a Registered Nurse and retired after 38 years.

She is survived by two sons; Joe (Monica) Brown of Wetumpka, Alabmaa, and Allen (Carolyn) Brown of Five Points, five grandchildren, Chappell Brown, Nicholas Brown, Hampton Brown, Elizabeth Halsey and Michael Holland, great-grandchildren, Brooks Brown, Bentley Brown, Baylor Brown, Zech Halsey, Thomas Halsey, Melody Halsey and Eliza Halsey.

She was preceded by her parents and her husband, Leonard Brown.

Graveside was held on Sunday March at Five Points Cemetery, in Five Points, with Dr. Wayne Swindall and Judge Calvin Milford officiating.

Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette assisted the family with the arrangements.
